HERPIZ-K is an hydroalcoholic extract obtained from leaves and stems of the tropical tree Spondias mombin. Due to the presence of ellagitannins, alkenyl phenol acids and other tannins in this extract the plant leaves infusion is being used popularly in Brazil and elsewhere to relieve symptoms associated with lips and genital eruptions due to viral infections.
Spondias mombin is a frutiferous tree having habitat in Brazil and several others tropical forests in the world. Its fruits are highly appreciated by local people for eating or using it to make juice or ice cream.
